This adapter goes HDMI to VGA not the other way around, you need to find a VGA to HDMI adapter.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I connected a VGA monitor to my new computer, 64bit, 3TB memory, absolutely no problem; my experience it is only a signal adapter and should solve your problem

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I would say no. What you want is a VGA & Audio to HDMI that has a Scaler to format the picture to the TV's larger screen. You might look at the AGPtek (model: T45 CC) on Best Buy's website. I imagine you will also need (1) VGA and (1) HDMI cable in addition to this unit. Hope this helps.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes you can go from vga to hdmi. The picture will remain at the vga quality but vga to hdmi adaptors are fairly inexpensive. The reason for the confusion is that while the plug has remained the same the technology has changed for vga. Originally vga was analog however the original standard went to digital about a decade ago, while keeping the analog interface. So some will tell no you cannot and that WAS true at one time, however now you actually can because the SIGNAL is digital.
