Dear Love Whales,(I Do Too!) I answered this question for you earlier, but, forgot my 'nickname', so B.B. sent to bed without a bedtime-story, and made me try again! The formatting -of-type, is the most basic reason, with B.R.s -although more 'delicate', in structure, being able, to hold more content,; whereas, DVDs, can 'take' more physical-stress, to its 'form'(the disc-itself). Like the difference, between a 'tension-bridge', and an ancient viaduct-arch, as you'll see in parts of Rome, Italy. (e.g., I have played-ONLY when they are made of the best materials, cracked DVDs; one could NEVER do that, with a cracked B.R.disc!!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Dear LovesWhales,(So Do I!), the reason one can't use this on Blu-Ray-discs, is the manner in which B-Rs are fashioned, which is COMPLETELY-different, from 'regular'-DVDs, in almost every way, esp., the way the Discs-rotate respectively! And, the formatting and algorthyms, used to make them do, what they do so well. DVDs are far more 'manual', by comparison. B.R.s conversely, take a much 'lighter'-touch.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I don't know for sure, but I guess its something to do with how the blu ray disk is finished
