While I do not have Spectrum digital, I understand that they have encrypted their signal and require renting their decoder for each TV. The product I bought is to convert digital AUDIO only, as I had 2 devices with optical audio outputs, but my soundbar only had one optical input. I convert one source to analog and plug into the 3.5 mm jack on the soundbar.
