This model does not seem to store the place you paused or stopped once it's turned off. Once you turn it off, it returns back to the beginning. It seems that you have to pause it and leave it on or turn it off and just remember where you stopped. It performs well in that it doesn't skip and plays well (no skipping, good sound) even when it's moved around but the lack of memory appears to be a downside. Of course it is less expensive than the models with memory.
