• There is a volume control on the player. It plays quit loud for me.

• I have no answer for your problem since mine works perfectly well. Next to the input for your headset ( green input hole) is the volume control dial. Make sure that you are plugging the headset in to the correct spot and that you are adjusting the volume on the dial properly.

• You need to put the head set in the green colored hole, and turn up the volume on the side. It plays much louder.
