Very odd-use mine all the time n have had no issues like that. Are you sure you have it on the right mode? Definitely would ask a Best Buy Associate but my works great!

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.This could be for several reasons, but keep in mind that this product is not MP3-CD Compatible. Other reasons could be because the CD is dirty or scratched, and needs to be cleaned. Another reason is that moisture has possibly formed inside the CD compartment--remove any inserted CD's, and leave the CD door open for about an hour to dry. Do all of your CD's not work? If this is the case, then you would need to seek replacing it.
