A:AnswerI had a GE Opal 2.0 Sonic-like ice maker and this one isn't quite the same type of ice, but I find the cubes to be just as chewable. The Opals constantly break down. I wouldn't recommend them. This one is decent, but I wish you could open the upper part of the lid for cleaning.

A:AnswerYeah I noticed the same thing yesterday. Ughhh...I've had mine for about year and never noticed until yesterday. The black mold is way in the back near where the ice cubes form. I'm going to trash it today.
