why does it not come with a wall charger? null

It's purpose is for traveling I.e road trips

To comment on some of the other answers. There is no charger included with the New 3DS XL

Every DS system should have a wall charger included. I'm guessing since this is more of a "travel" kit, a wall charger wasn't added.

The wall charger will be included with the device itself.

You should already have one that came with the device itself. Plus you can still purchase it separately.
