Can this be mounted on 24" spaced studs? null

Yes -- BUT, it makes centering on the wall a bit more difficult. You have plenty of slots to mount the wall plate on 24" studs. When centering the TV some installs can end up with one side of the TV brackets hanging on a wall mount end without the proper support.
