• Short answer is YES. The longer answer is that I used this mic for a series of Youtube videos and it was quite usable. Not high-quaity, but better than the other things you mentioned. You have to have a very quiet room as it will pick up fan noises from a nearby computer or, as was my case, the overhead fans in my room.
