According to the manufacturer, the current setting is to display the temperature for 4 seconds after inquiring what the temperature currently is. This is nearly useless, and they have stated that they are looking into lengthening that time. However they have no intention of allowing the temperature to remain there at all times as that portion of the display is used for many different things.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This device comes with firmware 105, which does not display temperature even you ask google assistant. You need to upgrade the firmware to the latest system firmware version:306 cast firmware version: 1.28.101871 Took me a while to figure this out, I've reset my device million times and it finally upgraded to the latest firmware. Press and hold the mic button for about 12 seconds until you see solid orange light. During the setup, if it shows "LOAD", that means it's updating the firmware, do not continue on your google home app until that's done.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. For some reason mine now consistently displays the temperature. There must have been a recent 2019 update or something because like the previous posters stated, it only displayed the temp when asked. There was an update in Oct that now allows voice calling too. These are worth the money especially if you can snag one on sale. I have both a wired and a wireless one and they can also pair as speakers.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The box indicates that it displays time and temp but I only get time as well. Certainly misleading. No point in displaying the temp if it's always said aloud by the device when you ask.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Apparently after the last update the speaker no longer displays the temperature after asking it for either the “weather” or “temperature”. I now have to ask it to display the temperature to see it flash up on the face for about 15 seconds or so. Not sure if this is a glitch or purposed by the update.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, you just ask "hey google, display temperature" and it'll come on for a short bit but doesn't stay on permanently.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I find if you ask what is the air temperature outside it will display for 60 seconds.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have 6 of these speakers spread in the house; and it only shows the temp when I ask for the temp. Today, I saw my Kitchen speaker showing the temp after re-connecting to the internet. Yes, that's another annoying thing, if, for some reason, the internet/routes goes offline, the speakers won't automatically reconnet, but instead, I need to turn them off and on to get rid of the "NeT" text on the display. Yes, going back into the temp display, seems like v318 does the trick. Hopefully I can manage to update the others from 314 to 318. To be honest, I'm hesitant to ask what's the temperature to my Kitchen speaker!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have both the small and big speakers and my small one started displaying the temperature all the time recently as someone else noted. The big one is just time still.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Displaying time & room temperature was a key selling point for me. I already have a Google Home and wanted this one for bedroom. Can't believe that the temperature display is only shown when you ask Google AND its the outside temperature of your city, not your room temperature. Bummer :(
