Pretty Cool and Useful
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had two of these for two months now, and they are absolutely incredible. They sync well with my Philips Hue lights, and provide pretty good sound quality. Pros~ They can sync with other Google Homes or Chromecasts in you house. They sync well with Philips Hue lights. There is also a super stealthy USB port on the back if you'd like to charge something. It is an awesome alarm clock! I used to use a Home mini as an alarm clock, but really didn't work well since Google had to deactivate the top surface. This thing works seamlessly. You literally say 'Hey Google' then when, what time, and how to wake you up. Yes, you can specify how. I had it set to play NPR to wake me up. You can set it to wake you to a specific song, or playlist or the radio. I've definitely waken up better now then when I used my phone or a screeching alarm clock. And just tap the top to turn off. If you like sound playing while you fall asleep, (like me), then you can set up routines to activate when you say you are going to bed. Mine will say the next day's weather, then turn my lights off. It will then play cicadas and cricket sound, which are VERY convincing. There are others like a fan, water stream, thunderstorm, or just plain white noise. A nice touch is the proximity sensors on the top illuminate capacitive buttons when you wave your hand over it. Helpful in the dark. Design~ The size of the unit is pretty much the same size as the original Google Home. But, it definitely looks better. The more angular design and black color as opposed to white is definitely better looking and blends in to environments better. Cons~ Only a couple, and they are not a big deal. 1) The power brick is pretty big compared to other speakers, so you may want to think about that before putting it on a power strip, and 2) the clock face is a little too bright for me at night. It is adjustable, and I have it to its lowest setting, but it's a little bright.

Good device, great for the $25 sale price!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought 6 of these when they were on sale for $25 each. 4 black, 2 grey. I think I like black best, but both look nice. Better sound than the Google home mini. Not a lot of Base, but decent for the price. I put one in the kitchen, one in the bathroom, one in my office, one on my nightstand. I love having decent music to work to any where in the house. Having the time to glance at is a huge benefit over other assistant devices. After a few days the temperature started showing too, only after I ask about the temperature, not constantly on. It's also really nice having the back USB plug to charge my phone or other devices with. With recent updates they now make phone calls. That was a surprise! LOL. I highly recommend at the $25 price point, but would have to do some serious soul searching to consider the $45 price, because there might be other better options out there at that price point.

Great Alarm Clock!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Would definitely recommend this product to anyone. It has a usb charger so you can charge your phone at your convenience especially if Alarm Clock is placed next to you on the night stand. It is compatible with google assistant and I use it 24/7 to ask what the weather is for today (as a female plan my outfit accordingly), what the temperature is outside, what my upcoming appointments are, and much more. When I’m lying in bed about to pass out I say, “hey google” “play relaxation sounds” and I get a variety of sounds: rain, a fan, the ocean, etc for those like me, who cannot sleep with out some noise. You can stream music from your phone and the speaker has amazing sound quality—-great ! &&& of course it’s sleek stylish design makes it even better :) !

Love this Google Assistant by Insignia
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Ive been using this GA for roughly 4 months, and I must say of my 3 GA's(Google Home, Mini, Insignia) this one is my favorite. I got this on sale for 19.99 around black friday online, usually 99.99. I have it in my bedroom, and the digital clock display is great, as well as the temp display. This works no different than my kther 2 Google Assistants at controlling my smart home, lights, thermostat, cameras, smart tv, smart locks. The audio is pretty good for such a small device, I sometimes use it to listen to music while putting away clothes, or simply taking a nap.

Nice Assistant speaker, and clock display
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For the money this is one of my favorite Google Assistant speakers, the added clock and temperature display is awesome. The temperature display was permanently added via a update. Works great with whole home voice commands, plenty loud for its small size. I would say this is a Google Home with a added built in display screen for bedroom use as a alarm clock.

Good sound with voice control feature
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It is a nice product at this price (it was priced at 49.99$ when I bought it). It has two small but very nice speakers inside and produces a surround sound. I use it to listen to songs from my iPhone over blue tooth. I also happen to have a chromecast device and so, I can also cast a video from you tube on my chromecast device in living room through voice command given to this google assistant in the same room when I'm in the "kitchen" which is incredible. It displays time of the day all the time, the luminous intensity of which is controllable. It also displays temperature for a minute whenever it's asked about the current temperature outside. I plan to buy some hue lights and control them through voice commands. Over all, I like the product and rate it as 4.5/5 just because of lack of battery backup like other Bluetooth controlled speakers.

Great Smart Speaker
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This Google Assistant smart speaker is awesome! It does just about everything the original Google Home does, but this one adds a visible clock display. The sound is also great when playing music on this speaker. No complaints at all!

Q: QuestionMine just displays time but no temperature, does anyone know how to get the temperature to display?
Asked by mward100.
- A:Answer According to the manufacturer, the current setting is to display the temperature for 4 seconds after inquiring what the temperature currently is. This is nearly useless, and they have stated that they are looking into lengthening that time. However they have no intention of allowing the temperature to remain there at all times as that portion of the display is used for many different things.

Q: QuestionIs the clock set automatically when you connect to the Internet or do you set the clock manually?
Asked by RW.
- A:Answer I can't get mine to display the correct time zone. It tells me the right time, but not on the display. Tech support said it's a google issue with no ETA to correct.

Q: QuestionDoes this device have alarm/snooze functionality? I see the "AL" on the pictures. Interested in replacing an alarm clock with this.
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer It does, through Google Home, you are able to set an alarm with a voice command such as "Hey Google, set an alarm for 6 a.m. on weekdays." You can also specify certain days, and have multiple different alarms. This is why I purchased this device, and thanks to it's smart home control, I can use it to turn on and off the lights in my room as I have a z wave switch connected to my samsung smartthings hub. You snooze the device by waving your hand above it.

Q: QuestionCan you set a custom alarm sound? I would like to wake up to birds chirping in the garden, so it is a nice and calm wake-up, rather than an annoying EH EH EH EH EH EH! I am assuming it would be more of a Google Assistant thing.
Asked by phj36.
- A:Answer I'm not sure about the particular birds sounds, but you can wake up to music/radio/media. It would work of you had bird sounds as a song track. Just ask Google to "set a [music/media/radio] alarm at [time]," and the Assistant will respond by asking what song/radio/etc you'd like it to play. Once you let it know, the alarm is set, and you'll hear the requested song at the set time.
Answered by Imaflei
Q: QuestionWhen I ask it to set an alarm. It tells me that it is set. Then tells me "something went wrong" or "sorry there is a glitch" and finishes with "try again in a few minutes". The AL lights up but never goes off or clears. and no alarm happens..
Asked by Dave.
- A:Answer I am having the exact same issue. Bought two of these speakers over the weekend and it's frustrating. I've found a user online with this same issue on another brand speaker (JBL). They circumvented the issue by changing the language setting in the Google Home app to English (Canadian). I will confirm this works, however, it will not let you set a music or radio alarm this way. In addition, your weather will be broadcast in Celcius, but you can fix that by saying "Hey Google, change units to Farenhiet." I would like to hear an answer from Insignia, though, as to why we're getting the "something went wrong" error when trying to set an alarm. That's kind of the whole point to this product.
