You can control lights. No you cannot do everything a Google home can do. You cannot make or receive calls, you cannot set a nighttime routine. This is a talking alarm clock with a voice. It is not Google home.

Your description is essentially correct. You can do anything with this that you can do with a Google home mini, including control the lights. I have mine connected to a Phillips Hue bridge and several lights.
