Make sure the mic's turned on. If it is check the settings in the adjust devices on your PS4.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Make sure the jack of the headphones is pushed in all the way into the ps4 controller untill you see no silver and make a solid connection. It won't break push it in firmly . I made this mistake with my ear bud that came with ps4 for two weeks untill I talked to someone about it. Other than that confirm mic is not muted. While wearin headset the mic switch in the upward position mutes mic.
