No, it will not work with the original SNES. The controller connector is different.

It only works for the new Super Nintendo classic that came out in 2017

No they won't work with the original SNES! These only work with any product that uses the Wii type plugin (also know as the accessory connector port).

Its only for the new Nintendo “micro-consoles” the NES AND SNES Classic that have the Square Wii connector. 
Will not work on old 7 pin oval connector.
