I have Sony NC headphones that cover the ears and this headset with earbuds only. The Sony works much better, but they're also quite a bit heavier and bulkier. The NC capability of this headset is good enough that I'd use it instead. They're light, pack easily, and knock out a lot of the aircraft noise.

They do well with cancelling low frequency noise like a jet engine, yes. I tested them on my riding mower and they surprised me with how well they cut out the engine and blade him.

No they will probably not block out airplane noise.

No. If you want something that works that good go with a blue parrot. I use one in my 18 wheeler and on a motorcycle going down tge road and they hear me and i hear them great. Worth the $90 all tge way. You can find tgem on line or at any truck stop.

Have not been on an airplane will it but it knocks out all other noise.

It should help with the low frequency noise, but not conversation. For better isolation, choose an over the ear style. Perhaps Sony or Boise.
