• You have to have a way to be connected to the internet. That is how they receive the signal of running low.

• Yes- Printer has to be connected to WiFi so HP knows how many pages you have printed.

• In order to use HP Instant Ink, you do need to connect your printer to a wireless network (or a hotspot). That is how HP knows when to send you ink before you need it.
