Instant Ink 50/100/300 is number of pages you get. Pick one of those plans. Canvia is not Instant Ink. It is its on company. It is bundled with Instant Ink right now in the stores. You only pay extra is if you run over you allotted pages. $1.00 for an extra set of 20 pages. If you don't use all your pages they roll over to the next month. You can set your Instant Ink for vacation mode for up to 4 months. Not sure if that is what you meant by locking printer. You pay for pages not ink. You are saving money by paying for pages and not the ink.
