• Dell has locked microcode in the bios that prevents anything higher than the 8700k processor from working despite the logical compatibility. This was done to force customers to upgrade. You would need to replace your motherboard which has its own share of issues.

• Hi sking102106, the motherboard in your Alienware Auroroa R7 does have the LGA1151 socket which is compatible with the Intel Core I9-9900K processor
