It appears to sense "tilt' or perhaps some other feature of a carpet, but our m6 never succeeded in climbing onto our carpets, as the thresholds were in the way. When we intentionally placed it on a carpet, it just stopped.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The robot has sensors designed to prevent it from traversing carpet. iRobot also sells small towers that emit a signal to the robots to not enter a certain area.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. If it hung up. I stopped it and placed it on the tile. I watched it closely the first few times. Once it learned the floor, it never tried to get back on the carpet.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. If the carpet is at the same night as the floor must likely this will happen. The gps can’t recognize the difference if is at even heights. I’m pretty sure that iRobot will fix or improve this with future software upgrades.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It initially has a training/learning period during which it maps rooms and you can teach it where you want it to clean. It will establish "smart maps" on which you can set up boundaries.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The m6 can recognize floor types and will avoid all carpets, including area rugs! Thanks for asking
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It should sense that it's no longer on a hard floor and go in reverse. I would suggest picking up any rugs before you set it to clean so it cleans under the rugs.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It goes forward sensing changes in the floor before backing up and spraying the area in front of it. It actually sensed it quite well and did not spray my carpet.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It automatically discovers area carpets and stops.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It automatically knows not to go. Mines doesn’t go on carpet or rugs
