Currently, the i7 is the only Roomba that works with a Clean Base. This is because the automatic dirt disposal requires a port on the underside of the robot in order to suction, as well as in-robot coding to allow for this behavior. iRobot does make this clear in all messaging to try to avoid confusion, but know that new technology and step-up products take some adjustment.
