Yes,I don’t use Alexa to start mine...I schedule my jobs to automatically happen 3 days a week every week from inside the app. I set it and forget it...
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. Why is the digital control important? If they can bend down and push the clean button, you don't actually need to use a phone/tab for it to work. We like the i3+ as it cleans itself. That is a really nice feature. The smartphone tie in is just a small feature. If you won't get the tower that vacuums the roomba, then a 675 is enough. If you want to be able to do room by room programming, you need to upgrade to an i7+ at considerable cost. I am an Android user, so can't answer the iPad question.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Roomba products are a great option for our aging loved ones who might benefit from automated floor cleaning. The iRobot Home App can be downloaded for free to the iPad from the Apple App Store. There’s no need for an Alexa device as all functionality can be accessed from the iRobot Home App on their smart device. All Roombas can also be controlled by simply pushing the “clean” button on the top of the device.
