A: I figured it out. It only seems to self empty if it makes it home on its own. My previous runs it got stuck and couldn't make it back and when I docked it manually it didn't automatically empty even though it was full.
A: You could but they were not designed for reuse. When you pull the bag out, you pull up on a tab the closes off the opening to the bag. There are after market reusable bags available from third parties.
