We went from a 65 Sony A80J OLED to this and the TCL is better. I honestly can’t believe it. After spending years with OLED I was convinced I would always need OLEDS in my home. Being generally unhappy with the performance of the X90K with a handful of dimming zones I was skeptical about this QM6K, but after carefully studying the performance of each TV the number reported from Rtings.com indicated that the QM6K was at least 2x better in quite a few places than my beloved A80J. And at a quarter of the cost I needed to see it for myself. I did, I barely needed to even change any settings something I’ve been used to doing with almost every Sony I’ve purchased over years. This is my first non Sony TV I’ve bought and kept. The short of it. The Q6MK was significantly brighter than my A80J in real life and I think even better than what was reported by rtings.com. I cant’t even believe the black levels I am seeing its basically OLED good or in worst cases 95% as good. Me and my family are all the abovers when it comes to uses gaming, movies, TV. My wife is going on strikes in Apex 120hz on the PS5 is epic, CoD 2019 was tested went a few rounds at 120 fps no problem. There is an fps counter in a gaming menu that tells you what fps you are running. Which is amazing. My other tvs could do this too but the input lag was noticeably lower on the QM6K. We are talking milliseconds faster here. But if you are playing cod with these new ai finger robot kids these days, every millisecond counts. We’ve watched all of Alien Earth on the new set and I went back and tested all the movies I know in and out. I can actually tell which movies were mastered in HDR and which were not. Even those that were not looked better than they ever did on my embarrassingly dim A80J. The QM6K is almost 2x as bright as my X90K, which is reported to be brighter than the QM6K but its NOT, not even close actually. The youtuber reviews from the main guys seem to think this tv isn’t hitting but it HITS! If I were to complain about anything it’s been the performance of the remote. Initially it was very slow and seemed like the tv wasn’t responding correctly. But I unpaired the remote and just used the RF and it went back being snappy and very fast. But then I paired it with bluetooth again and it started being slow again. i dealt with this for about 1 week then the remote just randomly started working okay and I haven’t thought about it til now. The remote is backlit and tells you how much battery life you have left in the aaa in the settings. The backlit remote is the best thing ever. If would have spent double and got a A95j or X95K I would have experienced the backlit remote earlier but after having it on the QM6K it was one of the best upgrades I got. I always loved Sony because of how perfectly you could dial in the motion. They have some super complex menus that really let you tailor the motion smoothing (interpolation) how you want. They were the best for as long as I can remember. And it was my biggest fear that the TCL wouldn’t be good enough. Sigh* this Q6MK is better, its just easier to dial in, and does everything the best Sony tv ever did. I could careless what a Bravia 7 or 9 is doing right now. Sony would have loved that I pay 2K for a Bravia 8 II. I honestly can’t justify these high end OLED and halo mini LED when Mid range mini LED TVs are better than top tier models from 3 years ago its wild. Spec wise and past experience is telling me I should have gotten the Sony Bravia 8 II. After getting this TCL. Sony is gonna have a hard time selling me anything ever again. I’ll get the QM9K unless Sony gets their act together on price point.

We've had the QM6K now for a couple of weeks and we have been very impressed with the picture quality of this tv. The trueness of color, refresh rate, brighness and resolution is phenomenal at this price point.
