One of the standout features is its mapping capability. In just a single 15-minute run, it flawlessly mapped my 1,500-square-foot home. For comparison, the Roomba i8+ took 2–3 hours and often required two separate runs to achieve the same result. The Roborock’s camera and LiDAR sensors deliver exceptional obstacle avoidance. Unlike the Roomba, which bumps into objects to detect them, the Roborock literally "sees" obstacles before it gets close—a massive leap forward in navigation technology. I was initially skeptical about the mopping feature. In fact, I tried hard to find a top-of-the-line vacuum without it. However, I’m glad I settled on the S8 MaxV Ultra because its mopping capability is genuinely impressive. It seamlessly detects carpet versus hard flooring, optimizing its cleaning path with surprising efficiency. Despite being more powerful than the Roomba i8+, the noise level is noticeably quieter during both vacuuming and auto-emptying. For pet owners, this is crucial—I have two dogs and two cats, and the Roborock handles pet hair and dander effortlessly. While the Roomba did a decent job, the Roborock truly knocks it out of the park. I did consider the Eufy S1 Pro Omni as a runner-up, but its lower suction power and single brush design fell short compared to the Roborock’s dual-brush system. For anyone with pets or larger living spaces, the S8 MaxV Ultra is a game changer. No regrets—just a cleaner, quieter home.

I like this little robot. it mops and vacuums, pretty quiet. It has a little light on it when it’s dark, you can also drive it around to using your app to look around your house. You can set a schedule and areas where it’s not allowed to go. We have it clean the whole house before we wake up in the morning. We disabled the feature where you can use voice commands because it always activates when the TV is on.

I've had the Roborock a couple weeks now. It's been great! I have it scheduled to clean my floors everyday. The water in the dirty water tank isn't as dirty anymore and my house now seems brighter. With a toddler running around, this really helps and takes over a chore I dreaded. I bought top of the line to make sure the job gets done and it definitely does!
