You must use the app to “map” the house. Roomba has to learn to go from the docking station to the designated room(s) that you want vacuumed. You can set it on a schedule to vacuum certain rooms. We start it in the opposite side of tge house from the bedrooms about 5:30 am and by the time we are in tge kitchen it has moved to the halls snd the bedrooms for vacuuming. Fairly noisy when vacuuming.
