Yes! Has worked wonderfully with ours. Our rug is definitely thicker, I’m not sure if it considered shag. We also have a rug pad underneath that also causes it higher elevation and it has had no issues.

I have a 11' rug in front of my sink-dishwasher etc. I have a heavy rug in front of the exterior door, from Sam's Club, there is a little struggle but it vacuum great there. Like I said put the home station in the center of your home. I close the doors on my 2 bathrooms just in case there is water on the floor from a shower.
