“I connected the HDMI from the ARC on soundbar to ARC connection on the TV and changed the internal TV sound connection to Arc and no sound will come through. I do have a Directv connection to another HDMI connection on the TV. Is that that the issue?”

• You should take the optical output of the TV to the soundbar while keeping your HDMI connections.
