“I just bought a 3.1 Ch sound bar. The ARC mode won't work every time I turn on the TV. It works when I reset it. For, some reason it changes from ARC to HDIM3 automatically in around 3 seconds.”

Your TV is defaulting to this input most likely based on the signal going through the HDMI line. If the soundbar is all you're using for audio, you'd be better off taking the optical output from your TV to feed the soundbar
