The preamps you see are just separating the highs to send to the tweeters and sending the mids and lows to the main speaker. Keep your amp.

Those aren’t amps, they’re crossovers. When installed correctly, the crossover will send the bass/ mid range to the woofer and the highs to the tweeter. No, they don’t need power from the battery. 

If you have a Factory amp, then what you’ll need to do is the original speaker wire in the door will need to be put into the input of the crossover. From the crossover you’ll need new speaker wire from the woofer and tweeter outputs (on the crossover) to the woofer and tweeters. 

If you’re installing a 4 channel aftermarket amp- kicker, alpine, Rockford fosgate, audiopile, jl etc- you’ll need to run new speaker wire from the amp to the door where you’ll have your crossover. The speaker wire from the amp will go to the input of the crossover. Then you’ll need more speaker wire to go from the crossover to the woofer and tweeter. It will sound much better going this route because aftermarket amps produce more watts than factory thus making your speakers sound better.

What you see as an amp in the photo is not an amplifier at all. This is what's called a "CROSSOVER". What it does is it separates the low frequency and sends it to the woofers. Then it separates the high frequency and sends that to the tweeters. The way it does this by using very simple electronic components of coils and capacitors. The sound running through the coil will only pass low frequency and the sound running through the capacitor will only allow the high frequency through. There is no amplification being done on a passive crossover like the one in this photo. Hope this explains it well enough so that it is easy to understand.

those aren't amps they are crossovers which modify the signal to the tweeters will get a high sig and the bass gets a low sig hope this helps good luck

Those are not "Amps", they are "Crossovers" to separate the high frequencies from the low ones to be sent to the proper speaker. Please be advised of the OHMs though. They sound good but I had to replace them because of OHMs.
