You need a steering wheel harness and steering wheel interface to access the steering wheel controls. The microphone should have came with the unit. You install it by your sun visor. I returned this unit due to the sound. This is the absolute worst sounding car stereo. It sounded worst than the factory unit. The sound drops out on local radio stations also. Best buy let me upgrade to a better unit. Much happier with the Pioneer.
