We want to install this in a cubby of our built in bookcase. There is wood in front of the drywall. 1) Can we mount it in there and how would we do? 2) If we later bought a bigger tv, could we use the same mount without moving; wouldnt be in center then null

You need to install this mount into a wood stud or concrete. The lag bolts we supply need to grip into the wood at least two inches for them to support a TV. If the wood behind in your bookcase is thinner than that then you'd have to determine a different way of installing the M300. When installing this mount it needs to be hung on wooden studs from the wall…so I think it would be OK to attach it to the wood in the cubby. But I also think it matters the size of the cubby & the television and if you are going to be able to maneuver your TV after installation. Good luck!
