“After wiring it up and plugging it in, it will not stay on.. it comes on for a few seconds, flashes multiple colors, then turns off (repeatedly).. I cant select anything or get into options or menu.. is this just a garbage radio?”

I had a factor radio I my car that was doing what your describing. Which is the reason I replaced it with this stereo. I haven't had any issues at all with mine. I had it installed at Bestbuy.
