I’m running a T750 Rockford amp and it pushes out the perfect 750w at 2ohm to the sub that’s 750 at 2ohms
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It is a common misconception that the gain controls the amount of wattage coming from the amp. It is possible to have full wattage with the gain turned down, because of this , yes it is too much. The speaker is only rated for something like 600-800 RMS. This also depends on the amp, a lot of manufacturers put things like 2400 watts, when it’s only a 1000 watt RMS amp. Be careful to notice wether it’s an RMS rating or a Peak rating when selecting the amp.
