Yes, it's too much and not necessary unless you're going to change subs later. The L7S 12 is rated at 750 rms. The Kicker 800.1 or Audio Control LC 1.800 should be perfect. ( The Audio Control has low level inputs if you're using the factory deck. That's a plus as you won't need a low level converter.)
