I'm 5'5' and want to be able to look into the microwave without banging my head on the microwave door when cooking. Also, don't want anything to spill on me when I take it out - too high. null

Mine is 18 inches from cook top. I'm 5'1". I can't see in but that's not really an issue. You don't want it too close to the cook top because of the heat. I would check with the manufacturer.
