This was my second KithcheAide purchase as I have been replacing my other appliances after only 5 years! I purchased KA refrigerator Dec. of 2019 and loved the durability, quality and richness of the black stainless. Once my 5 year old microwave stopped working, I knew my next purchase would be a KitchenAide microwave. As expected it was no surprise when both my microwave and dishwasher stopped functioning an/or continuously had to be serviced again only 5 years old. I did my research as to quality, durability and ease of use and serviceability. I then went to Best Buy and received exceptional customer service. I love the large capacity, sleek look and the user friendly cooking selection settings. It walks you through every step to ensure proper cooking times. Beyond useful when cooking with the convection! Cooks great and evenly and not to mention I can bake without having to use my range oven. Keeps the house a lot cooler! Great investment for the exceptional quality!

I purchased this microwave solely based on it being the only model that I could find that opened and closed quietly. The sound of my family slamming the microwave door drove me crazy so when my Kenmore Elite started to run when the door was open and not run when it closed I jumped at the chance to try and find a quiet microwave. My search consisted of me opening and closing the door of every unit on display. This KitchenAid was the clear winner. I paid for a convection element that I may never use just for the almost slam-proof door. This oven looks very nice in my kitchen and it is so quiet! I can hardly tell that it’s running. Had no idea that my former unit was so loud. The exhaust fan is loud however. I only have 2 complaints: you can’t pause to check your food then resume with the remaining time. You have to press cancel then start over. And I don’t think you can turn off the reminder sound. It’s either all sound off or on. The reminder beep is annoying. Oh, one more con is that if you put something in the microwave and don’t start it right away you have to open and close the door again to turn it on. I don’t know how long the lag is, I’ve never timed it but it’s annoying that I can’t put a bowl of soup in the oven, let it sit for a few minutes while preparing other stuff then start the soup without the thing making me open and close the door. Overall I do like this microwave. When my fridge goes I’m going to buy a KitchenAid to match.

This is a great appliance. Quiet in microwave mode. Convection mode is a little noisy but no more than any other convection oven. I had dismissed reviewers who complained that controls weren’t backlit or otherwise more visible in the dark, but turns out their complaints were legit. Doesn’t bother me much but I’ve found myself wishing I could see the controls better when the lights are off (pic I attached was taken in dark kitchen. Controls are completely dark but the flash highlighted them). I often use my under cabinet lighting at night but it doesn’t light up the front of the microwave. The door is huge and seems a bit cumbersome, but I knew that when I bought this. Just thought I’d mention these cons and validate them as legit concerns. However everything else about this microwave is great so I’d definitely recommend it. These cons might cause me to give it 4.5 stars instead of five—reflected this by giving four stars for ease of use (other than these cons it’s very easy to use, tho).

It was with some hesitation that I spent as much as this microwave costs but my history with KitchenAid has been solid. (I have several other appliances and small appliances from KA.) This was my first KA microwave and, with my gas range, I needed a 400 CFM exhaust fan so this was distinctly ahead of the other brands/ offerings. The true bonus lies in the convection oven features. The programming is great with a manual option to allow for baking/ roasting anything that will fit as well as my KA gas range does without heating the entire kitchen. The ventilation is quiet and powerful unlike my past GE profile or LG over the range models. The microwave itself is very capable and powerful. I prefer my vegetables only barely steamed or cooked and the steamer sensor function results in a perfect product for cauliflower and broccoli. I have successfully experimented with steaming eggs and am confident that this can be perfected in time. I would recommend this to anyone in any situation. There is a bit more stainless around the face of the unit due to the door closure lipping-over the edge a bit which gives this a nice, overall clean look - not to mention the bright and wonderful stainless interior.

This microwave is fantastic! It is quiet, heats up food very well, and looks great. I love how easy it is to clean and all of the functionality. Installation was clear, and I have had no issues since. Would definitely recommend.

Will see how it holds up. This micro replaced a Whirpool Gold version of the same unit that was problematic. We went with this one because installation was exactly the same. The Kitchenaid is probably 50% more quiet than the Whirlpool and I like that it has the stainless interior instead of the supposedly non-stick interior of the Whirlpool. Unfortunately, the unit was damaged and had a dent at the bottom corner, which also pushed up the casing a bit at the upper corner. I managed to not notice this until after the unit was installed or I probably would have exchanged it. It's disappointing, but not sure it is worth the hassle to remove the unit again and try to get fixed or exchange. The packaging seemed fine, so maybe happened before shipping? Maybe change the casing if it comes out again for another reason. One thing I find odd is that the KA has a larger turntable than the Whirlpool, but the exact same convention rack. In the Whirlpool, the rack fit in the turntable and didn't move around. In the KA, it slides all over the place because it doesn't fit. Trying to find out if it is even the right one. Seems strange. Will update as necessary, but seems good so far.

This microwave/convection oven is so pretty and works so well. This has a little learning curve especially when it comes to the convection oven. I have used it to make pizza, cookies and mac and cheese. Putting metal racks and dishes into a microwave even though you are using the convection oven is pretty strange. Remember the pans DO get hot. Yep, that was my first mistake. I am not allowing bags of popcorn to be made in this, I purchased an item to pop popcorn in and the popcorn setting works very well. I had to try many popcorns and the best one is Organic popcorn from Trader Joes. I don't know why, I tried 4 other kinds and with the sensor on the TJ popcorn worked the best. I made cookies the same time I was trying out the oven and it took a little longer and I used the preset button and I thought it was too much time, however, it was perfect. Now you can only do two small sheets and about 6 cookies on one sheet, but it worked well. The microwave works very well and a large cup of water will boil in less than 3 minutes. The pizza turned out so well, Tombstone, and so did the mac and cheese from Sam's premade. I actually preferred the way it turned out vs my Delonghi cooker, which I have loved for several years and still do. It takes a minute to heat up the oven for cooking, but the way the food turned out it was worth it. If you are cooking for 2 and a smaller meal this is just what you need.

My wife and I looked at probably 50 different microwave's and were undecided whether to buy a cheap standard microwave or spending the extra for the KitchenAid with the convection oven built in. We really liked the look inside, which ultimately swayed our decision. We weren't disappointed at all...we love everything about the KitchenAid! Even the door closing is super smooth and feels like quality, and it looks amazing. Our favorite feature so far is the steam sensing feature. Broccoli is perfectly cooked with the perfect crispness. I was going to install it myself, but I figured it was worth the extra price to get Best Buy to install it to make sure the fan was routed correctly in the duct work and to haul away the old microwave. Totally satisfied!

This is no ordinary microwave oven. With the convection baking it becomes a secondary oven during busy holiday times. With a clean and professional exterior that opens up to a spacious interior. Compared to my prior KitchenAid this unit is much quieter

I read the reviews on several convection microwaves. I decided to buy this one after shopping around because I bought a floor sample at an excellent price. I haven't used any of the upgrades but it is a beautiful appliance. It is nearly silent when warming.

Excellent convection microwave. Plenty of features but requires a bit of learning to operate. Large capacity of 1.9 cu/ft is a bid plus. There is a cooking guide included but no real instructions and information what each of the control buttons do. With that this is a well built product and well worth the money. I would definitely buy it again.

Our 10+ year old Whi****ol microwave bit the dust just before Christmas. We had already remodeled our kitchen with this series of KitchenAid oven, warming drawer & induction cooktop. Everything now matches and this unit is sooooo much quieter than our old one, we can hardly tell when it's on. Cooking end chime is pleasant and quiet, great stainless interior, nice controls, HUGE door.

Microwave is excellent quality and very quiet. Controls are a bit wonky at first, but doesn't take long to get used to them. Also, I installed this microwave myself and the instructions weren't very clear. If you've never installed a microwave before, opt for the installation. Overall, excellent product! (don't mind the range in the pic, that's next to be replaced!)

With very few Over-the-Range Microwave/Convections on the market, this was great value. We were looking for a new Microwave/Convection oven to replace our 19 year-old GE Profile with similar functions mainly because we were remodeling our kitchen and the 19 year-old oven did not match the new Stainless Steel Décor. Did not have much of a choice right before the remodel when the old door handle broke off. This oven was fairly easy to install, but does require experience or installation manual plus it takes two fairly strong people to lift oven over head. The fan is a little noisy. easy to operate for typical express type cooking.
