Black disappears under the body of the appliance and after a week or so you won't notice it anymore. You're just hyperfocusing on it. It's like when we installed solar light tubes, we kept looking up at the ceiling, but after a while you normalize (or at least you should) and stop looking at those weird details that NO ONE else does. Just keep the black and forget about it. People's eyes won't be drawn to the black kick plate, and your kitchen will be fine.
