Mel, if you review the features and description information on this model, it clearly states that both pairs of side burners can be bridged. The four outside burners are 7 inches in diameter, while the center burner has a 9-inch center and 12-inch outer burner. The cooktop can sense if a pan is present and determine the pan's approximate size to help optimize the performance of the burner, plus it can sense if the pan is removed from the burner. If the pan is not returned to the burner within a predetermined time, the burner is turned off automatically.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. There are five burners, four of which are 7 inches wide and one that is 12 inches wide. Not sure what a bridge burner is, but I don't think that they are. Pans several inches wider than than the burners can be used; but remember due to it being an induction cook top, the pans must be stainless steel or cast iron. I have been very pleased with this cook top!
