This 5-element induction cooktop combines precision and speed. Electromagnetic technology directly heats the pan while keeping the cooktop surface cool to the touch. Twelve power levels give you the power to rapidly bring water to a boil and sear scallops to perfection. A bridge function combines the power of four elements into two large cooking zones for specialty cookware.

  • 12 Heat Level Settings: Provide various levels of heat to fine tune cooking techniques ranging from melting chocolate and simmering a sauce to searing meat or achieving a rapid boil.
  • 12''/9'', 4800/2500-Watt Element: Offers two element sizes in one space to accommodate a variety of pan sizes without changing elements and allows you the power needed to cook at high heat.
  • 4 Elements with Bridge Functions: Allows the flexibility to convert four cooking zones into two large cooking zones which provides additional space to accommodate specialty cookware.
  • 5-Element Cooktop: Provides five independent cooking surface areas.
  • Control Lock: Helps prevent unintended use and makes it easier to clean the control panel.
  • Melt and Hold: Uses low power levels for melting delicate ingredients or keeping cooked food warm without scorching.
  • Pan Size Detection: Provides feedback on whether pan size is suitable for the selected element.
  • Performance Boost: Allows you to exceed the maximum heat-level setting for up to 10 minutes, perfect for rapid boiling.
  • Simmer Function: Automatically selects a low power level to help maintain a constant simmer without boiling over.
  • Touch-Activated Controls: Integrate seamlessly into the surface and include a slider for heat-level selection.

Q: What size are the burners? Are two of these bridge burners? What is the max width for pans that can be used on these burners? Thanks

A: Mel, if you review the features and description information on this model, it clearly states that both pairs of side burners can be bridged. The four outside burners are 7 inches in diameter, while the center burner has a 9-inch center and 12-inch outer burner. The cooktop can sense if a pan is present and determine the pan's approximate size to help optimize the performance of the burner, plus it can sense if the pan is removed from the burner. If the pan is not returned to the burner within a predetermined time, the burner is turned off automatically.

Q: What is the cutout dimensions for this stovetop? I can't find them anywhere, and I need them to install countertops in kitchen.

A: Hello houseinstall! The cutout information we have is: Cutout Depth (in) 19 5/16" and Cutout Width (in) 33 1/16". Thank you for your inquiry on our KitchenAid appliances.

Q: Does this cooktop make a lot of beeping sounds? Can those sounds be quieted or muted?

A: No, it makes a sound when power turned on, and when you are adjusting the temp. Or if you take off a pan and forget to turn power off, it will let you know. We love it so far, very easy to keep clean and boils water super-fast!

Q: Does it have any fan that makes noise after you stop cooking? (I have a small portable induction cooktop that does have a loud fan, but I'm hoping the expensive built-in ones wouldn't.)

A: You would have to listen very intently with no other sounds to interfere in order to even hear the very faint fan noise. We love this cooktop and I would compare its speed to heat equal or better than gas. Best of luck

Q: do you install it ? and does it come in stainless ?

A: Yes, it comes in stainless steel.

Q: Where is the model and serial number located on a 36" KitchenAid Induction Cooktop?

A: Hello. The model and serial number should be located on the bottom side of this Cooktop. We hope this helps.

Q: I was wondering about the electrical requirements for this cooktop. I know its 240v but does it need to be feed with a 40 or 50 amp breaker? Does it require a neutral?

A: I am not an electrician. According to specs you need a 40 amp breaker. However you will also have to upgrade the wire to carry that load. I had an electrician run the wire and install the breaker
