“Does it have any fan that makes noise after you stop cooking? (I have a small portable induction cooktop that does have a loud fan, but I'm hoping the expensive built-in ones wouldn't.)”

You would have to listen very intently with no other sounds to interfere in order to even hear the very faint fan noise. We love this cooktop and I would compare its speed to heat equal or better than gas. Best of luck
