Mine are on a newer Yamaha receiver and I had no issues with just wire and play.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I guess that depends on the cables you are using now, actually! The binding posts on the back of the speakers will take banana plugs, spade lugs or bare wires, so I doubt that you don't already have one of these ends already, so I'm going to guess YES!!! they should be plug & play! But if you have some other termination, say RCA plugs, you could just cut the ends off the cable, separate the 2 wires, strip them and shove the wires into the small holes that appear when you unscrew the caps on the speaker's binding posts then tighten the cap onto the wires! Just watch the polarity... The red terminal gets the copper colored wire (+) and the silver wire is the (-) to the black terminal. You won't hurt anything by hooking them up reversed, but they will sound flat, so reverse them and they'll sound much better. Also, I have blown amps in bygone years by hooking up speakers while powered... so to be safe, shut down the power BEFORE changing them.
