Need to be plugged which is its only negative.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The Lenovo Smart Display is designed to be plugged in, and always be on, so the Google Assistant is always available to help when you need it with a simple “Hey Google” command. It does, however require an always active Wi-Fi connection, and powered on. But you can unplug it and move it to another room if you want.
