• We bought a similar new laptop (Lenovo ideapad, model that is no longer available new) for a relative last year in May, and they connect to their hotspot on android phone just fine. We bought this model laptop for ourselves this past January, and we connect via WiFi in our house.

• Yes it will. This device ships with 5G 802.11AC frequency WiFi, which is backward compatible older b/g/n frequencies.
