“Does taking out of S mode make Windows 11 a lot slower. I upgraded to get speed and efficiency, but it will not accept my Quicken checkbook program because it is not microsoft. If I switch out of S mode, am I going to notice a big difference in speed ?”

Switching from S-Mode will not slow your computer down. The APPs/software you install may. We always recommend you check the requirements and compatibility of any software you will be installing on your new computer, before you invest in any computer. Be sure your new computer can support the software you will need to use.
