If you don't need the added security or you need to install APPs not available at the Microsoft Store, you can switch to standard Windows 10 Home 64-bit Operating System, at no additional cost. Windows 10 Home 64-bit Operating System does not require that only APPs available through the Microsoft Store be installed. You can install any Windows 10 Compatible software.

There is a 30-day trial of McAfee Virus Protection software on this model that will automatically activate when Windows 10 is activated for the first time and will protect the laptop for its first 30-days. You do not have to use McAfee. You can uninstall McAfee and turn on Windows Defender, if you choose.     • Answer Laptop's do not come with a full version of Office pre-installed, they do come with a free trail. You would either need to get Office Home and Student 2019 which is a one time purchase or Office 365 which is a yearly plan. The difference between the two is that with Home and Student you'll have the 2019 version and it will not be upgraded to the newest version when Microsoft releases a new one and it does not include Outlook and One Drive Storage. I personally would recommenced the Home and Student Version.

  • QuestionThe Lenovo - Ideapad 3 15 15.6" Touch-Screen Laptop has blurry images. Is there some way to sharpen the images?

    • Answer Be sure you have the latest version of Windows 10 on the computer. Then update all BIOS files and drivers up to that latest version of Windows 10. You can easily accomplish this by scanning the computer with the Lenovo Utility software available on this computer. This system has Lenovo utilities installed to help maintain the health of the device and keep the operating system software up to date. Type "Lenovo Vantage" in the Cortana Search window (if Lenovo Vantage is not installed on your device, you can download the APP and install it now). Select Lenovo Vantage from the list. In the window that opens, click on "Health and Support". In the expanded menu, select "Hardware Scan" In the window that opens, select "Run Quick Tests". This will scan your entire system for errors. Follow any directions that may pop up. If the problem continues after this scan, now click on "System Update". First select Windows update from the menu. Scan your system to be sure you have the latest version of Windows 10. Once that scan is complete, select "Additional Updates". This will scan your device to be sure there are no new BIOS/Driver updates needed. Follow any instructions that may pop up. It is deactivated at startup because the 30-day trial of McAfee Virus Protection is setup to automatically activate with the initial Windows 10 activation and run for the 30-day trial. You can uninstall McAfee and start using Windows Defender anytime.
