According to crucial memory finder this model is upgradable to 20GB of RAM. It has a soldered module on the motherboard and one is removable. As the lenovo specialist stated doing so yourself will void the warranty so you would want a certified technician to do it for you in case something happens.

There is 4GB of RAM soldered to the motherboard and an additional 4GB of RAM in the one RAM memory slot within this configuration. The maximum RAM this device can support is 12GB, so your certified technician can replace the 4GB in the RAM memory slot with an 8GB stick of RAM.
