USB specs in general support a myriad of devices & more in quantity than anyone would ever want to connect. That said the maximum power provided by a USB-C port limits the number of devices which are not self-powered. The following is directly quoted from USB Implementers Forum (USB-IF). "For high-power SuperSpeed devices, the limit is six unit loads or 900 mA (4.5 W)..." So, with USB-x being standardized means if your device is USB-C compliant and does not draw more than 900 milliAmps it should work fine. But remember, every device in the chain that is not self-powered is going to pull power from the original port so you can quickly over power that port.
