there is no fan with the SSD. It is nice and quiet. as far as for the RH Shift Key, I am left handed so fortunately I do not have any issue with the location.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This model doesn't have a fan. RH shift key is a little weird, but I'll probably re-map it so it's the up arrow.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I do not have any issue with fan noise - in fact, I hardly notice it being there. The keyboard is great, too. I use this computer for writing and I don't have an issue with the keyboard. The fact it is so compact but comes with a delete key, is amazing.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I haven't had the experience with the noise like others so far. I surf the internet, watch the movies and use MS Office most of the time. You just need to get used to where the RH shift is located. Overall this is a very good computer especially for people who travel frequently and value mobility.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This model is not effected by the fan noise issue. With regard to the right shift key issue you mention, there is a free software APP called KeyTweak that may help you. You can switch the key functions of specific keys on your keyboard with this software, so you could change the right shift key with the key you hit in its place. Just Google search "KeyTweak" and you will find articles about what the software does and you will find the download location for this free APP.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I did not realize there was a fan nor have noticed noise. I actually assumed there was no fan, because the laptop does get warm/hot. If by "RH shift" key you're referring to the fact that the shift key is to the right of the "right" arrow, it's annoying, but a surmountable issue b/c computer is great.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I'd actually commented to a friend on how quiet I thought the Yoga was. I wondered if it was because of the "Core" processor, which is new to me. I bought Core instead on Pentium. As for the shift key? I think I always use the left one anyway. Just my touch typing style. And I've used the on-screen keyboard a lot. If it were my sole computer, it might be different, but as it's a secondary device, I always do any extensive composition on the larger machine, anyway.
