From what I learned from research, yes the memory is expandable. In regards to the SSD. If you have the Signature Series with a "1" in the last 4 digits of the model number it has a high performance Samsung PCIe- 3.0x4, NVMe M.2 SSD. NOTE: All 900's have same specs. The ram/memory is also 1866 vs 1600 in other 900's with different model numbers I tested the SSD speed using Crystal Disk Mark though I don't have the result commited to memory the read speeds were in excess of 850MB/sec and write speeds were in excess of 600MB/sec. Those results are significantly faster than my Samsung 850 EVO 500GB SSD in my high performance desktop pc.
